Zombadings 1 Patayin sa shokot si Remington is a Filipino Indie ( Independent) comedy film released on August 2011. It is well received by moviegoers considering that during its entire run, there are other big budgeted movies being shown in the cinemas. The movie stars Mart Escudero, Kerbie Zamora, Lauren Young supported by seasoned actors Eugene Domingo, Janice De Belen and Roderick Paulate. The story is about Remington, who made fun of a gay man when he was younger. The gay man then cast a curse on him, saying that he’ll transform to a gay guy too. Fast-forward to fifteen years later, and the curse on Remington takes effect. Meanwhile, a serial killer is terrorizing Remington’s town, killing all the gays in the neighborhood.

My Tutor Friend (Donggabnaegi gwaoehagi) is a 2003 South Korean Romantic-Comedy film released on January 30, 2003. It is about a touching story of two completely different students from two completely different worlds. One is a rich male repeating his third year of high school and the other a poor girl in her second year of university struggling to make ends meet. This film was the third best selling Korean film of 2003 and was able to attract over 5 million moviegoers. It topped the box office for five weeks straight. Viewers immediately loved the movie which was similar to My Sassy Girl released in 2001. While this film may not be an example of a classic in Korean cinema, it possesses a definitive Korean charm. The film leans towards being a romantic comedy combined with action sequences which keeps the movie exciting. Fans enjoyed the film for the two attractive lead characters and their chemistry.

CRAZY LITTLE THING CALLED LOVE (Mario Maurer Movie Festival)


First Love better known as Crazy Little Thing Called Love, is a 2010 Thai romantic comedy film and also a 2011 Asian sleeper hit film starring Mario Maurer (of the Love of Siam, Friendship, Bangkok Kung fu, Rak Sud Teen) and Pimchanok Luevisadpaibul.
The film got the good impression and positive reviews from critics and audiences, despite being filmed with an average budget. In Thailand, the film placed in 3rd place from its weekend gross in almost a hundred cinemas in Thailand, then an impressive up to 2nd place on the next weekend behind Kuan Mun Ho. The other two movies (including Toy Story 3) simultaneously released with First Love dropped to 3rd and 4th respectively. The film managed to maintain its position in 3rd place the following weekends and stayed inside the top 5 for six consecutive weeks. The film was shown in cinemas for nearly ten weeks (until October 2010) - making it one of the longest running movies in Thailand cinemas. In total, the film got an excellent gross of $2,659,443, becoming 8th highest gross movie of 2011 (beating Prince of Persia, The Chronicles of Narnia, Inception, Step Up 3-D, Alice in Wonderland, Tron Legacy), and the second highest grossing local produced film in Thailand. By early 2011, copies of the film were uploaded on the Internet. Several countries got interested to get the rights to broadcast or release the film. Since then, some audiences got also a high interest to watch the film in their countries.

iL Mare is a South Korean movie released in 2000, starring Jun Ji-hyun (of My Sassy Girl & Windstruck) and Lee Jung-jae. The title, Il Mare, means "The Sea" in Italian, and is the name of the seaside house which is the setting of the story. The two protagonists both live there two years apart in time, but are able to communicate through a mysterious post box. The film was remade by Warner   Brothers in 2006 as The Lake House starring Sandra Bullock and Keanu Reeves.

Hello Stranger/ Kuan Muen Ho is a romantic-comedy (Rom-Com) Thai film from GTH commercially released on August 19, 2010. The movie was a box office success with a whooping 125 million Thai Baht in its entire run. This was inspired by the book Two Shadows in Korea by Songkalot Bangyikhun. It portrays a young Thai man and woman who meet by coincidence while on vacation in South Korea. They decide to tour Korea together while keeping their names secret from each other. The movie was filmed in Korea and includes various locations that have appeared in Korean dramas that were broadcast in Thailand like (Coffee Prince, Winter Sonata, Jewel in the Palace).

Phobia 2/ Ha Prang , literally "Five crossroads" is a 2009 hit Thai horror film directed by Songyos Sugmakanan, Banjong Pisanthanakun, Parkpoom Wongpoom, Visute Poolvoralaks, and Paween Purijitpanya. It  is presented into 5 parts: Novice, Ward, Backpackers, Salvage, and In The End. The movie is produced by GTH GMM-Thailand's leading film production company following the very successful previous chapter 4bia/Phobia (aka See-Prang/ Four Crossroads). The movie premiered on September 2009 in Thailand and is part of the 2010 San Diego Comic-Con International. It was a big hit, making 15.5 Million Baht on its opening day and 64.4 Million Baht in its opening week, highest in Thailand's movie history.

4bia/ Phobia is a 2008 Thai horror film in four parts, helmed by the makers of Shutter, Body and Alone.The title is a pun on the word "phobia". The number 4 is in reference to the film's four short stories: Loneliness/ Ngao directed by Youngyooth Thongkonthun; Deadly Charm/Yan Sang Tai directed by Paween Purikitpanya; The Man In The Middle/Kon Klang directed by Banjong Pisanthanakun; The Last Flight/ Teaw Bin 244 directed by Parkpoom Wongpoon.  The film premiered on 25 April 2008 and was part on 20 October 2008 at the Toronto After Dark Film Festival, the European premiere was on 23 January 2009 as part of the International Film Festival Rotterdam.

THE LOVE OF SIAM (Mario Maurer Movie Festival)


The Love of Siam (Rak Haeng Sayam) is a 2007 Thai film. A multi-layered family drama, a groundbreaking element of the story is a relationship between two teenage boys.The fact that the storyline was not apparent from the film's promotional material initially caused controversy, but the film was received with critical acclaim and proved financially successful.  It dominated Thailand's 2007 film awards season, winning the Best Picture category in all major events. The film was also nominated for Best Supporting Actor (Mario Maurer) and Best Composer (Kitti Kuremanee) categories in the Asian Film Awards at the Hong Kong International Film Festival, but did not win.
In October 2008, Mario Maurer won the Best Actor award in Southeast Asian film category at the 10th Cinemanila International Film Festival in Manila, Philippines. The Love of Siam is Thailand's submission to the 81st Academy Awards.

Baby and Me (Agiwa Na) is a 2008 South Korean comedy a rebellious 18 year old guy (Jang Geun-suk) becoming a student father of an unknown baby boy. Han Jun Soo is a tough 18 year old high school trouble maker. Often involved with gang fights, once with 17 other guys, he always wins every time. Suspended in school due to this, Jun Soo's parents decided to leave town to discipline their rebellious son. Instead of feeling terrible about it, he organized a party at their mansion instead. Shopping for the event, he stumbled upon a surprise - a little toddler sitting in his shopping cart wearing the name tag "Han Wooram" and adores Jun Soo like a father. Still puzzled, he brings the baby home although it is revealed that the child is not his biological son but is a son of one of his friends. Hereafter begins his adventures and misadventures while trying to learn how to be a father for his son.

The director of this flick admits he was inspired by the format of the British romantic comedy "Love Actually".The film was released on 2008 and earned an unprecedented 10 million baht on its first day, totalling 34.1 million in its opening weekend. It earned a total of 80 million baht in the box office and was the third-largest grossing Thai film in that year.

Do Re Mi Fa So La Ti Do A 2008 South Korean musical-romance-drama film based on the internet novel of the same title by Guiyeoni is a touching story with bittersweet elements. Directed by Kang Geon-hyang and produced by New Crayon Entertainment. It stars Cha Ye Ryun as Jung Won, Jung Eui-chul as Hee Won and Jang Geun Suk ( of He's Beautiful Korean series) as Eun Gyu. The acting skills of the 3 main characters were very convincing in this flick. The featured songs " Waiting for the Time" and "Full of Sunshine" by Jang Geun Suk were the teens' favorites.
