The яoad

Philippine horror movies have lagged behind those from Asian locales like Japan and Korea and to a lesser extent, Hong Kong and Thailand in terms of international acclaim and exposure, but with efforts like Sigaw, Patient X and The Echo (an English-language remake of Sigaw), writer-director Yam Laranas has done all he can to break through into the global consciousness. His latest effort is The Road, which tackles the Asian horror staple of ghosts from a unique angle: backwards.
